Many people have silver (amalgam) fillings, which are about 50% mercury.  Today, there is overwhelming scientific evidence that using mercury fillings is second-rate at best and extremely toxic at worst.  Mercury is one of the most toxic substances known to man.  It cannot legally be thrown in the trash, buried in the ground or handled with bare hands.
