Many people have silver (amalgam) fillings, which are about 50% mercury. Today, there is overwhelming scientific evidence that using mercury fillings is second-rate at best and extremely toxic at worst. Mercury is one of the most toxic substances known to man. It cannot legally be thrown in the trash, buried in the ground or handled with bare hands.
Initially, it was believed that mercury fillings were sealed and the poison could not be released into our systems. Now we know that the fillings release mercury vapor 24 hours a day, especially when we chew. This vapor is released into our blood stream and deposited into our liver, kidneys, brain, gastrointestinal tract and other organs.
Mercury exposure can cause a multitude of symptoms, including headaches and insomnia, and is also being related to conditions like Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer's, Chronic Fatigue, and Fibromyalgia. Dr. Weiser believes that some people are more sensitive to mercury than others and may be more likely to become ill.
For those who are interested, we offer safe mercury filling removal using the special guidelines recommended by IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine & Toxicology). These guidelines prevent mercury exposure during the filling removal process. Dr. Weiser’s office is one of the few offices in Southern California, that provide this service.
